Still too expensive!

My lad (16) is finally developing a decent music taste so looking forward to taking him to a couple of gigs in the next few weeks.

Catfish & the bottlemen. Heaton park.

Fontaines - Finsbury Park. I’m really looking forward to this one myself.

Catfish? I’d rather watch Robbie!

Going to Fontaines at Finsbury too and looking forward to it. A band I’ve followed since seeing them in tiny venues pre-Dogrel all the way up to the big park gigs now. I reckon they’re one more album away from some big festival headline slots - Reading, Glasto….

Not been to a gig in a while - John Otway and His Band at a pub in New Cross, back in March of this year, but got two lined up.

Pelican at The Tufnell Park Dome in July and Orange Goblin's last ever gig at the Forum in Kentish Town a week or so before Christmas. I'm hoping to blag freebies for an evening of power metal at Wembley Arena next March - Powerwolf, Hammerfall and Wind Rose.

Went to sees a new band called Leap last Saturday in Camden. Place was literally dripping sweat by the end of the gig.

Also added Gorillaz doing Demon Days in full in August. Love that album so can’t wait for that.

Watched The Kooks at a small acoustic gig a couple weeks back at The Met in Bury. Decent and nostalgic.

Got The Teskey Brothers in a couple weeks at The Piece Hall. Then Leon Bridges at Ally Pally in July.

Saw Samantha Crain a couple weeks back and recently went to How The Light Gets In festival.
Got tickets for Manchester Psych Festival late August.

Me and a couple of mates went to that. Seen them loads of times so we weren't going to go until we learnt that Big Special were supporting so tickets were purchased and very pleased we did.

Big Special were really good and I was surprised how full the Academy was when they came on (attractions of a hometown gig, I guess). Pixies were relentless as usual. It's got us considering Kim Deal at Wulfrun now...

If we sidestep that, James at Cannock Chase is my next one, then Elbow in Warwick.

Springsteen, tomorrow, at Anfield unfortunately. After that the mighty Neil Young in Berlin and Hyde Park twice in 8 days.

Morrissey at Co-op Live in Manchester on Saturday.
