Whoever it is, the club as always are keeping their cards close to their chest (which is a good thing IMO)
I wondered when he might get a mention. Left Preston before August was out, mutual consent?
Mutual as in the players hated him and so did the fans.

He was sacked tbf. Fell out with board and fans - football was atrocious
He'll fit in here then.

Set the bar low enough and supporters won't be too disapointed with the eventual outcome. It's the Black Country way!

Flagged for point scoring.
Don't worry Ted. Dekka won't be happy unless somebody turns up with an abacus, sacks all the analysts and sports science staff, starts shouting "gerrit fucking forward" and reintroduces the magic sponge and half time orange segments. All whilst having a "I hate Pep and all his followers" poster in his office. Which is just an empty room full of tobacco smoke and a blank tactics board.
I understand tactics and sports science as much as you think you do I’m not a football Luddite, I just don’t slavishly follow trends or think because I go on a few stats sites I’m more insightful than others. Football trends come and go, there is nothing ground breaking or particularly insightful about doing the same as other coaches do. Fitness and data help any coach or manager but they aren’t the only attributes they need to succeed, ultimately they are just tools.
This brings me onto Williams, I have no idea if he would be a success and neither do our finance and tactical wbaunofficial board experts . It’s ok to have preferences and it’s never an exact science with regards to recruitment. From what I’ve seen he’s achieved less than Robins and Eustace as a manager, his Swansea team from the games I’ve seen are bang average, neither punching above or below their squads ability. I didn’t just decide he wouldn’t be my preference after a drubbing at Pompey, not that matters.
Whoever gets the job lives or dies by their results nothing more or less. Let’s see who we get… I got diddly squat for saying I’d like Megson to be considered for the job before we appointed him, I got bugger all for declaring my support for Roy and RDM and I got nowt for them giving Bruce the time of day.

Fwiw, Dekka. I've always thought you have been pretty spot on much of the time football wise. But you've developed quite the obsession with "modern trends", and I am not sure now is the time to be too worried. The last 2 or 3 years we have seen more and more teams, particularly at the top start changing their tactical approach and the variation we used to enjoy in the English leagues has returned. I have alluded to it in a previous post. The likes of Palace, Newcastle, Forest for example are all playing a much more direct, 'vertical' brand of football. The target man has become useful again to help bypass the 'high press' and we are seeing more emphasis on midfielders breaking forward than we have in recent years.
P s. I am surprised you didn't pick up on the tongue jn cheek-ness of my post

Sound quite confident & I have no reason to doubt you.
Seems there are leaks in the camp that the owners won’t be pleased with.
Didn’t realise he has a connection with Ian Pearce at both West Ham & Brighton.

Forest are taking the Prem by surprise by playing direct the same way that Leicester did some years gone. The slavish way trends are followed is nothing new. Alf Ramsey's wingless wonders bored everyone to death almost 60 years ago. Along with Revie's anti football and Graham Taylor's up and at 'em. Football is actually a very simple game and won by he who dares. (And having the best players might help!)
