Had EA send me a Beta code for EAFC 25 - get access to kick off, seasons and pro clubs. Hoping they’ve made an effort with clubs this time round.

I heard that is very good and they bought a new controller based on it.

There was a massive reduction in price for about 10 days at the end of July so I bought one before it went back up in price, but haven't used it yet as bought it for the winter months really and I haven't had the time yet.

I have downloaded the Resident Evil demo because others have recommended it, but that's more of third person shooter.

Please do you know of any good FPS for it like Doom/Gears of War that don't involve having to do puzzles and look for stuff.

Also, not vr related, but have you played any of the Wolfenstein FPS games?

Anyone else becoming increasingly fed up with the lack of new IP's and the saturated remake market. Developers aren't as creative anymore.

The Wolfenstein games are good, ridiculous and OTT but that’s all part of the fun.

I think I know what your asking, so let me try and answer. The problem unfortunately is down to cost, time and saleable product.

1. Developers working with already created content (baselayers, mapping, engines if you will) is cheaper than asking a development team to build whole new designs and constructs.

2. It takes more time to develop new content and designs, than edit / repurpose already avaible designs and constructs.

3. Players keep buying GOW / Assassin's Creed / Halo - why would studios / publishers change a working game engine and playing model that works?

The question I suppose should be, how can developers become more creative - consider gaming narrative has become very singular (i.e. you play online COD in your bedroom with Baldrick56 from Arkansas)? Can AI be used to be creative?

The industry isn’t in a great place at the moment.

Development, especially AAA titles, takes longer and costs much more to do these days and only a select few seem to sell in decent numbers. You only have to look at the number of studios being shut down and employees being laid off across the industry to see how bad things are.

Studios are incredibly risk adverse these days which stifles creativity and forces the same few properties and games that they know people will play.
