Following on from the above I've been training seriously for a month now and have been taking much better care in terms of what I've been eating (fruit smoothies for breakfast every morning) and cutting down massively on the fatty foods, crisps, biscuits, booze etc and am starting to notice real results in term of weight loss - have dropped over half a stone since I started.
Running is getting much better too, went over 10k for the first time in ages on Monday and am planning to do so again this lunchtime.

Good stuff mate, I'm back up to 2 x 10k a week and I don't really booze too much anyway but am still barely losing any weight at all!

Arf! That makes me feel slightly better, I just seem to be a consistent 12 stone 12 no matter what I do.

I’ve had a couple of bad months, cricket season and general motivation have taken a toll. I did my first Ultra in June and been struggling for motivation. Have signed up for Manchester Marathon again in April so from Xmas onwards will have that focus to my training. Doing the Cambridge half in Feb as part of my training and will need to find a suitable 20m race for early March too

I did the Winchester Hilly Half Marathon on Sunday, taking a well earned rest this week. Just signed up for Southampton 10k in November to give myself something to focus on otherwise the rubbish foods and alcohol will start taking over again

Comfortably up to 8 miles now and really enjoying being back into serious running. Once you get past about six it becomes easier to start working up through the miles - if you can run 6 you can run 7, if you can run 7 you can run 8 and so on.... Aiming to get to 10 by Christmas.
