Look at any videos with him in the 80s and 90s and he's an articulate bloke.

Trump's cognitive functions have clearly declined, he's unable to string a coherent sentence together without rambling. I don't see why that is relevant.

It's totally relevant Borin, because even if you look at stuff a few years before he became president he did not behave/sound that way. I do agree that his mind has gone somewhat, but think it's a mix of narcissism thrown in there too.

I've seen interviews with linguistic experts showing how Trump has dumbed down his vocabulary and behavioural experts showing he has acted like a thick redneck, so some morons in a one horse town in Hicksville think he's like them, rather than a cosmopolitan New Yorker born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

There's a huge part of what Trump is doing that is an act. However, I do agree that he has mentally lost the plot.

He stops mid sentence and goes off on completely unrelated, he didn't do that in the 1980s and 1990s and it's a significantly worse issue now than it was eight years ago. I think it's pretty irrelevant to compare cognitive functions of 78 year old with a 48 year old.

I'm not disagreeing Borin. I think he's lost the plot and mentally is not what he was. However, I do think he has become a dangerous power mad dictator. Whatever it all is, we pretty-much think the same.

There can’t be that many undecided voters in the US surely?

Trump is very much a known quantity at this point a hugely divisive figure. Doesn’t really matter who the Dems put forward at this stage, the choice is either to vote for or against Trump. He isn’t going to offer much in the way of policy at any point t in the run up to election so can’t imagine many are waiting to see what he’s promising.

Most will have long made their minds up.

According to polls it's on a knife edge and these undecided can make the difference. 

I do agree totally with the spirit of your post though, as it's barely conceivable that there are undecided voters.

I've relations in New Jersey and a friend in LA and they both despise him.

This led to him trying to defend in areas that he should have been attacking. Watching her smile at all this will just rile the narcissist further. She's playing the game well so far.

Aye, she was the one laughing at him. He got so rattled by Harris saying that Trump's rallies are boring and that's why people leave them early. That's the context of immigrants eating cats and dogs.

Harris deflected every policy attack question on to Trump and Trump took the bait every single time.

I think he was first elected on a wave of patriotism. Despite shouting MAGA, the voting public have now seen through him.

Agree with your view but unfortunately it's not 'all he has'.
The real danger lies not with Trump as such but in the support he receives, from the Murdoch media empire, the unholy alliance with Musk, his obeisance to Putin, and the cult like status he has with a section of the electorate. He has successfully reduced political discourse to the lowest possible level and created a culture of non-accounability and total disregard for facts.
That said I believe Harris will beat him.
