' Transfer Speculation Thread '
From a quick bit of internet research, he's about 6ft, mostly a ball-winning midfielder but has the kind of legs you'd expect a kid his age to have. Right footed and Everton fans were relatively mixed on him leaving. Lampard thought highly of him by all accounts.

If we are getting £3m for Yok, replacing him with someone 10 years younger for a much lower price and wage is the right move.

68 ranking on FIFA and has potential to be a PL player on FM24, the game values him at £6m so sounds like a steal at £2m Big Grin

He's actually 63 rated on FC24 (FIFA). Still plenty of time to improve.

Anything anywhere near £5m for BTA and we'd have to consider it.

It’s £8m we’re talking about apparently.

That sounds more realistic. This is a player that has improved every time he steps up a level, gives 100% and looks like a joy to work with. We wouldn't dream of selling other than the circumstances we find ourselves in. At £5M we'd simply be better keeping him and considering offers elsewhere, unfortunately. At £8M, I'd shake hands on it.

Given he has 12 months on his contract this is about right.

I like BTA but I don't see him being more than 12 goals a season, and I really don't think his touch and all round game is good enough for the top flight.

If we can raise £8m off a £300k spend it really helps the P&S position and given the rumours around Yok out and Price in, I'd imagine we'll be giving £3-4m of that money to CC and I'd expect we could find a decent replacement for that kind of money.

£11m for Yok and BTA, and possibly shifting one of Wallace or Swift's wages would also mean we'd be under no pressure to sell Fellows, and if he continues to develop, he could quite easily be a £20-25m player next summer.

I think we can push for the top 6 this season, especially given it's a more even division, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if this year was one of consolidation, squad refreshing and putting our house in order.

I would expect us to be in the top 6 again.

We have only lost Kipre and Mickey J from our first XI so far last season and have made signings to replace Kipre and Okay already. Yes we do not know if they are any good, but in terms of profile they look the part.

We ar emaking some really smart moves and shrewd looking signings and that makes me happier than anything else.

This is my expectation and would like to keep Fellows as part of that. BTA is a bit of a victim of circumstance, due to, as you say, his value in terms of P&S.
As a player I would have been happy to retain him, but, at £8m it's just a no brainer, given our financial situation. I just hope we replace with another young forward and not a Hugill type journeyman.

Indeed, and we have Molumby and Maja to come back into the fold (and hopefully have less disrupted seasons) which should help.

£8m for BTA should enable us to sign a striker and put a couple million on the table for Mikey Johnston...
