It might not be right, but it's what's happening. Democrats only have themselves to blame for allowing Biden to go on for so long.

I don't want to put words into Proth's mouth but I think that's the exact thought he seemed to be expressing, not that he thinks Trump is the better bet. And I agree with you both. Ridiculous state of affairs.

Sleepy Joe is the perfect epithet. Trump is bang on the money with it. That's not to say I agree with Trump about anything else, which I referred to earlier in the thread.
You're right. Extremely statesmanlike. I can just imagine Abraham Lincoln, Franklyn D Roosevelt or John F Kennedy describing a political opponent in those terms. Or, perhaps not.

There again, I fail to imagine any of those men, if Twitter or X were available in their time, spending lots of time sitting in their office, tweeting nasty things about people who annoyed them. It's an indication of how low we have sunk that this pathetic individual can even be considered a candidate for such a powerful position.

Would that be the Nixon who is the only President to have been impeached? Makes sense.

Nixon wasn't impeached. He resigned.

Fair enough. He resigned when he was told that his impeachment and removal were all but certain.

Personally I'd rather trust a guy losing his mental faculties, but who has experience and knowledge of world affairs and a decent moral compass, and team of knowledgeable people around him compared to a one eared gangster, who shreds confidential documents and pays off prostitutes.

Great post Spandex. I rarely worry about world politics but the thought of that crooked orange moron allowing Putin to take what he likes of Ukraine and various parts of Europe does give me huge concern. The Democrats have massively fucked up by not easing in better suited younger candidates but the fact remains for me, I'd sooner have Biden as he at least surrounds himself with capable people, not crackpot dictators.

I look forward to seeing the medical and FBI reports; the former should have been released already. Being hit by a bullet from a semi-automatic rifle would surely have taken his ear off at the very least. It seems more likely that it was a shard from something.

Anyone who believes this rubbish is a deranged cultist.

I don't believe it, but fact remains that gun went off, man got hit, man got back up. Meanwhile the opponent can't even recognise his own wife.

It's actually Trump who called his current wife "Mercedes" and misidentified E. Jean Carroll as a previous wife (Marla Maples) in a photo, the same Trump who last night told Scott Walker that he's doing a great job as Governor of Wisconsin...except that Walker hasn't been Governor since 2019 after losing to a Democrat. But let's not let any facts get in the way of the "optics".

Actually, let's talk some more about optics. Several people have latched on to 2 optics which they regard as being the only 2 that matter, so let's go into the mists of time back to, say, a month ago before these 2 optics existed. There were a few other Trump optics around back then that should be regarded as still being worthy of consideration, such as:

- saying that he could just kiss women without even having to wait - in fact do anything...grabbing them by the pussy
- being found liable for the rape of E. Jean Carroll
- being a very close friend of Jeffrey Epstein
- being the first US president to be impeached twice
- spending 20% of his working time when president golfing and continuing to do so during the pandemic
- suggesting people should inject themselves with disinfectant to treat Covid and also shine a light on it from within (??)
- refusing to take any responsibility at all for the egregious American pandemic death toll of over 1,000,000
- claiming to this day that the 2020 election was rigged despite providing no evidence to show that it was
- encouraging a rabble to go to the Capital on 1/6/21 to "stop the steal" and then doing nothing for 3 hours whilst the building was ransacked and gallows were elected outside for the vice-president
- stating that those found guilty for Jan 6th offences should be pardoned
- being convicted of fraud relating to hushing up a sexual encounter with a pornographic actress whilst his wife was pregnant
- taking and storing classified documents at his home and refusing to give them back when requested
- having 3 ongoing federal charges which have only not progressed further because of biased judges
- asking if protestors could be shot to prevent them interfering with a photo-up where he stood holding a bible upside-down
- having 6 of his companies go bankrupt
- praising evil dictators in every speech
- saying he will allow Ukraine to be defeated by Russia
- refusing to do anything at all about gun violence and telling parents to get over it a day after 1 child was killed and 7 injured at a school shooting
- regarding himself as effectively being a deity
- spending the vast majority of his time posting on social media, including when he was president
- lying incessantly about anything and everything
- being clearly held to virtually no standards whilst Biden is expected to meet standards that are impossible to attain
- claimed that there were airports during the American War of Independence
- having 40 of 44 members of his previous presidential cabinet saying that they don't support him now

Could there be anyone less fit to be president? Yet all the fingers are pointing at Biden because he had a bad 90 minute debate, fuelled by a rabid media that glosses over all of the above.

Whatever Biden's failings they pail into insignificance compared to Trump's. Don't be on the wrong side of this.

Not sure who this is pointed at, Worcs. Everyone on here knows what the right side is, most of the debate is around what will swing people on the other side of the pond.

I don't think anyone on here supports Trump.

I certainly don't, I've had the displeasure of reading Project 2025 and that's what is coming when he wins.

But he is going to win, the US is a very strange place, I said before, plenty of Americans in swing states will vote on a single point, gas prices being a massive one there, they were lower under Trump before, I know two Americans who are voting just based on that, nothing else.

As said, very strange country and people.

Biden - “ My Vice President Trump……”

People- “ He’s losing it, God help us”

Trump - “Can we inject ourselves with bleach?”

People - “ Make America Great Again! “
