Her husband was badly beaten around the head leaving him with a fractured skull. He was 82.
Trump is a despicable and very dangerous man, those praising him really just don't WANT to see it.
Cunts will be led by cunts.
There is no reasoning with them. It's only fact if it suits their agenda and brain dead ideology.
It's a sad reflection of the mind numbing stupidity of a vast proportion of the voting population.

The optics are being grossly distorted in Trump's favour incidentally.
I don't agree with anything Trump stands for; economic and military isolationism, anti-immigrant sentiment, barely disguised contempt for pretty much everybody.
However. The optics are that the whole apparatus of state (and liberal media) has been lined up against Trump. The optics are that it has culminated in an attempt on his life. The optics are that he bravely dodged a bullet and immediately stood with a clenched fist salute as a representation of virility.
Since its foundation the US has been deeply suspicious of the power of the State, fearing the same sort of tyranny it fought to escape from. Just read the US constitution. This is so deeply embedded in the American psyche, and so different from many people here who (wrongly in my opinion) believe that State to be a benign entity.
First Hillary Clinton managed to insult enough swing voters to cast their ballots for Trump. Then the Democrats conspired to select a terminally gaffe prone septegenerian career politician in Trump's stead, and allowed him to go back on the understanding that he was a single term transitional President - he did pick Harris at veep for a reason you know.
Trump is (incredibly, to me) presenting himself as the anti-establishment saviour of democracy against the deep state. The Democrats have done little or nothing to counter that, and as Americans are so deeply suspicious of the State it's hardly surprising that they will turn to Trump again.
Yup, they're fucked.
Incidentally, I agree with your overall analysis of the failures of the Dems in countering Trump, but it needs mentioning that Clinton's demise was greatly helped by well-documented Russian interference, and that she won the popular vote by over 1 million IIRC. Only the weird electoral college system kept her from translating votes into victory.

The old boy has got COVID now. Is this how the Dems jettison him from the ticket?

Is there just the one "old boy" or is the 78 year-old Trump, who was falling asleep during speeches made by his sycophantic new VP and his son yesterday (imagine the furore if Biden had done that), just a tad on the senior side as well?

Trump dodged a bullet whilst Sleepy Joe caught Covid.
Trump is going to get a free pass on everything until the Dems come to their senses.

Trump didn't dodge anything, apart from military service.
Convicted felon Trump was also reported quite regularly as having fallen asleep during his hush money trial. You know, the one where he complained that he couldn't put his side of the story, whereas in actual fact he declined to testify.
