Is this shin splints? Never experienced anything like it. No improvements in few days gonna go doctors but expect they’ll just say DOE RUN FORRA BIT. Annoying. Had started the year well.

The little niggly injuries that stop you from running for a few days are way more annoying than the big ones.

Nonsense

Being out for 6 months with plantar fasciitis pissed me off a lot more than 3 weeks with a light fracture to the tibia.  Both a result of my long walks

Set my 10K PB today, 50.31 which I'm pretty happy with. Been really consistent (bar the odd week of mental work here and there) this year, but I've managed to lose no weight whatsoever. My diet isn't particularly bad anyway, I don't really do takeaways, fizzy drinks or hit the booze hard much at all. I have to be in a calorie deficit when I'm running, as I'm eating roughly the same as days I'm not running, so I'd be putting weight on in theory?

FWIW don't eat back exercise calories when trying to lose weight. A deficit is best calculated using sedentary TDEE unless you have an extremely strenuous manual job or your body fat is already very low (12% or less).

Sure, I’m not over compensating I don’t think. Might have a slightly larger lunch but nothing obscene. I just thought I’d notice it trickle off, but nada in 2.5 months of pretty consistent exercise.

Lovely day for it. Either I'm shit at pacing, or strava tells lies. Felt I was really pushing and nailed on to top my previous PB, but alas, nowhere near.

Went out for a run myself over lunch, as you say a lovely day for it.

Fucking heaving around the Thames though, especially between London and Tower Bridges.

Not aiming for anything like you guys, but at the gym I've been working on fartlek based training, and I'm really starting to feel the benefit when it comes to Sunday football. 4 miles worth of movement (a fair amount of running, I promise) in just over an hour, according to the Fitbit last night.

I played as a kind of left back (8-a-side on a 7-a-side pitch). This forum would have loved the chance to abuse some of my play given the full back scapegoating!
