It's The Ashes (again)
Worldie of a catch, enjoyed it too, fair play to the ginger one!

Don’t you feel a prat when he takes a worldie like that. He’s not a bad keeper yes agreed not in same class as Foakes but can be outstanding what a catch. Angel

Woakes' earlier test omissions a puzzle. Was he unavailable?

Yes. But sentiment trumps logic.

Proper days test cricket. Ebbed and flowed .. Aussies thrown away advantage several times. England marginally on top.

If only Anderson had been dropped for Woakes for Lords.

Very even first day in a very even series. Almost all the batsmen got "in" but no one went on to a big score. I'd have prefered us to bat but it seems we are happy to chase. Great bowling from Woakes, decent from Broad, Jimmy was quite unlucky and agree with Ted Maul's comment, we needed a 4th slip. Must also say, some great reviewing from England, Stokes is right on it there, wants to be almost certain. Australia though, is there anything they don't appeal?

I don't follow the cricket that closely, but it's good to see that this out dated series is a bit more even than it seems to have been the last few years Smile

Lots of talk of it being a close day yesterday, which I'd agree with if the weather forecast for the weekend wasn't what it was.

In taking a day out of what will more than likely be a three day game Australia will be pretty pleased I'd imagine. All of the pressure is now on England to take two quick wickets this morning and then score 400 or so, quickly against Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood. It will certainly be the biggest test Bazball has faced thus far.

It will be frustrating to see us bemoaning the English weather come Sunday when we played such sloppy cricket for two test matches out of five.
