I wonder if they warned him that if he continues to leave his crease they'll throw the ball at his stumps? It's just smart and opportunistic cricket. I've absolutely no issues with it. My frustration and criticism is aimed at Bairstow.

100% this. Bairstow is an idiot. Don't give them any opportunity. Carey clearly noticed him leaving his ground quickly several times, and throws the stumps down in one motion. He hasn't tricked Bairstow pretending the ball is dead, he's taken advantage of Bairstow being a plonker.
Is it cheap? Sure. But the reaction is frankly ridiculous. The claiming of catches is far more controversial than this.

He's been given out for similar in the past, and as you say he was leaving his crease after every delivery. He hasn't learned from past mistakes and has been punished for stupidity and could have cost England a win (again, this time with the bat as opposed to with the gloves).
I really don't understand the issue. It's avoidable from Bairstow and within the laws of the game. Australia have seen an opportunity and ruthlessly taken it. I'd be loving it if Bairstow got Smith out in that way. It's clever cricket from Australia and it's brain dead cricket from us.
The issue is you this is not cricket, that’s 3 dismissal’s in 2 two tests that wer not out but given by incompetent umpires and cheating Aussies.
This is out by the letter of the law. Even if I think it's a scummy way to get him out, it's still out by the letter of the law. If the Aussies claim it what are the umpires supposed to do?
He taps his foot before moving out of his crease ball should have been dead. As I’ve said incompetent umpires. It certainly woke up Stokes though hasn’t it.
It doesn't matter what the batsman does, the ball is dead when the wicketkeeper or bowler get the ball and motion the play is dead. There is nothing the umpires can do except give it out if the Aussies are calling for it. Correct even if it is not sporting.

Why criticise Bairstow he did nothing he hadn’t been doing all innings, ball passes Carey catches passes ball on, Bairstow walks forward. No different except a tosser behind the stumps wants his revenge for Duckett reprieve. Cheating Aussies.
That’s my lot on this.

Sorry mate but this is a load of horse shit. They couldn't care less about revenge, they just want to win.

That’s my lot on this. Just because Bairstow thinks it's over doesn't mean the ball is dead. That is not his decision to make. Carey released the ball (without any real force) whilst Bairstow was still in his crease. Therefore does that make it over and dead ball?

Is c'rect. Loved Broad coming out giving everyone dog's abuse until he got to Carey, "and that is all you'll be remembered for" !

Broad has played it great. Series needed a bit of needle. I've said Australia will be too good for us over the five games, they don't need to stoop to such desperate measures.

Seems to have rattled the Aussies and galvanised Stokes and England.
