His style of cricket suits how England are playing right now, I've no issue with it

We're not expecting our spinner to take 10 wickets a match and Root is massively under rated as a spinner. If Mo holds up an end, gets some turn when available and he will score way more runs than Leach would have then all is good

Nice to see the Indians lobbing a few throw downs at Smith and Head currently, dear me

Cuzer

Agree Leach is our best option. But that doesn't make him brilliant. He's an average spinner. A likeable character, too. But if he's the best spinner we have in this country then you need to ask serious questions.

Hussain did a good piece on him I caught at tea, into the ribs around the wicket, India went short outside off stump with no fly slip - braindead, he helped himself to a 4 and a 6, be a different approach under Stokes' leadership I'd wager

Cuzer

He averages 48 after 37 matches. His year on year averages are below. He's clearly a good batsmen with those numbers. Granted, I do expect Stokes to have more of a plan that the Indians have today, but you absolutely can't underestimate him.

2018 - 10 innings, 33.9
2019 - 17 innings, 49.4
2020 - 4 innings, 18
2021 - 4 innings, 62
2022 - 15 innings, 50.3
2023 - 8 innings, 72.3 and greatly increasing after this innings you'd imagine.

He's in great form AB and playing well but my point is I don' think they fear getting him out like ML or SS

We've a few in good nick too with equally impressive records

Going back to Leach yes he's our best option and yes he's not in the top 10 spinners in world cricket but we are where we are, why Moen is the right pick to step in and adds loads more to the batting

Poor team selection from India for the Oval, compounded by dire Day 1 bowling and then errors from top 5.  Only going one way this match

True.  Just hoping Labuschane and Smith don't get too comfortable in this. Only good news was Warner getting knocked over for one second innings. I really wanted India to give them a bloody nose before Edgbaston.

Not won a major trophy have they for 10 years the Indians? When the pressure's on to perform, see the one off test last year they drop the ball

Me old mucker Pindgill must have loved his first 3 days there watching the Aussies run riot

Agree with Manc, not playing Ashwin seemed mental from the off and looks worse now.......

Really poor selection from them. Leaving out Ashwin, again, is going to cost them. And the decision to bowl first clearly didn't work out very well.

A thrilling 3 days in the sun. India have indeed cocked up the selection by omitting Ashwin. A decent fightback from a potential 3 day finish but missing Bumrah and Rahul massively. A beast of a pitch will have only helped the Aussies in their preparation for the Ashes and allowed some to run into form. India on the other hand have shown how a lack of prepartion will affect performances.

Lol.

Looked untroubled until he received the ball of the match. Unplayable brute.
