Surprised Dawson and Rodriguez were both hooked off, apparently Matt Wilson says they weren’t injured.

J_rod was tactical I'd have thought although I thought he had a good first half?

Dawson must have been a niggle

Bizarre that a Dawson / Hegazi switch could be seen as tactical. It's simply like for like. Resulted in us going down to 10 men with no more subs available.

Eh? Sub was made before HRK went off

We have to save them for our make or break game at Stoke Saturday.

CiM is saying it seemed an unnecessary sub which meant we'd used them all.

I would have expected Hegazi to be first choice for middle of the three but maybe he's more fragile than Dawson. It seems BD wants to keep JRod, Livermore, Dawson and Hegazi fresh for the league.

I hate the three at the back system. Mears and Townsend at wing back?? Bad tactical decision by Moore and Jones.

I didn't see a problem with the substitutions at all. Seems BD only ever wanted the senior pros who have been involved in most games to play a maximum of an hour.
J Rod got 45
Dawson got 45
Livermore got 60 odd
Hegazi ended up with 70 odd thanks to the extra time.

All 4 will be starting I would have thought on Saturday so made complete sense to me why he made the subs he did when he did.

When you think Holgate, Gibbs, Barry, probably Johansen, Gayle, Murphy will all be fresh for Saturday then I thought BD handled it pretty well tbh

Exactly. Which meant we used 4. HRK injury mesant we couldn't bring anyone else on.

Hegazi came on for ET so only played 30 mins

This

Whether we agree or not it was clearly pre planned with Saturday being the priority, cost us the game last night but if we win Saturday it’s justifued, certainly in the managements eyes
