Good luck, certainly got the weather for it!
Got my 5k time down to 25:42 this morning, edging closer to 25 mins. Doing a longer slower run certainly made this shorter quicker run feel easier.

Got round in 2.08 which given the conditions (windy as fugg) and my general lack of fitness isn’t a disaster.

Well done Midge and Duffers.
Frustratingly, I've had a calf injury for the last 4 weeks, and I rest for a week, walk with no issues, stretch beforehand, and then it goes again after about a mile. I was running 3 times a week, and really enjoying just switching off for half an hour or so. Can't wait to get back to it again. Unfortunately, as you get older the recovery time takes so much longer.

Cheers all.
Feeling absolutely wiped out tonight, that was without doubt the hardest run I’ve ever done. First proper race in 3 years and I’m starting to accept that my days of going under 2 hours for a half might be behind me.

You're just getting into your best years Duffers, I'm 53 and still trying to improve to maybe doing a race after ignoring running for too long. One key as you get older is the stretching. Yoga is something to look into if you are not doing it already, it's a bit better than the old 'grab you foot for the quad stretch whilst having a ciggie' warm up.
