I get why PC fans like being able to fiddle and OC and get insane FPS etc, I've got one! But surely the upgrade from PS4 > 5 is more than worth it for the better loading times and graphics even for enhanced PS4 games? Not to mention the titles that will be coming out over the next decade. I'll stick to my PS4 for now, I'll be able to catch up on the stuff I've still not got round to on the cheap. Probably wait for my boy to be old enough to want a console, might even be a new Nintendo one by then.

True, but i've not seen anything on Gamepass that makes it worth all the hype it gets.

I also hate the multiplayer.

Halo, Forza, Hades, FM, The Outer Worlds, Jedi Fallen Order, Doom Eternal, Skyrim, Fallout, Control, Gears of War, Battlefield, Hellblade…

Played halo a few years ago and didn't like it, really don't get the hype. Forza I'm a GT guy, although all driving games are somewhat dull these days.

Hades, FM, Outer Worlds, Skyrim = PC.

Jedi Fallen Order - Free PS5 version on EA pass

Fallout (some of them) on PS+ game collection. Control PS5 version was free on PS+.

Gears of War - see Halo.

Battlefield several have been on PS+ and others are on the EA Pass too.

Hellblade i know nothing about.

Thing is, everything you listed doesn't beat the argument of the PS5 is only for old games, if anything it scream gamepass is only for old games. Only Halo, Forza and GoW in that list are MS exclusives, the rest I either played when they came out, or have got for free on PS+ / PS Now or EA Pass... Excepting Hellblade, but since that came out 4 years ago it backs up my thoughts.

Gonna open my reply by stating that I find console fanboyism incredibly tedious and frankly bizarre, I own both XSX and PS5 so there’s no weird bias towards either multinational corporation…

You’re right that all the games I have stated are last gen (although new Halo and Forza are out later this year), but the truth is that both Xbox and PS are still dealing in last gen games. Nearly all of the big PS5 exclusives have been pushed back and/or made cross-gen and I do not believe there are any Series S/X only games out there yet. Like I said the other day, they could/should have delayed released the consoles 6-12 months to allow for more stock and better games to be available at launch.

I’ve had my SX for 9-10 months and in that time I’ve played dozens of games, but I’ve only physically paid for one (Tony Hawks) it’s certainly true that every game can also be played on a PC/XB1 (there are minor improvements for SX) but I personally feel the range and variety of games offered on Gamepass represents tremendous value for money. Now that they’ve bought Bethesda they’re adding their entire back catalogue to the service too, plus you get EA Play chucked in for free.

I think it will become even better on time too once this new generation picks up. MS have committed to bringing all theirs and Bethesda’s first party stuff to GP on day one so we are looking at the new Halo, Forza, Starfield, Outer Worlds 2, STALKER 2 and everything else their studios are working on for the future. All for the annual cost of one PS5 game.

Wasn't being a fanboy, and it is as weird as football fans and the way they view their teams probably! Just don't get the hype for Gamepass when you compare the actual costs involved and what games are actually available. On the surface it does seem great value, and I considered it for PC, but until I can get a modern gfx card then I won't, I should add when i can get one for near RRP that is! Then if I can get one then gamepass may look better value to me, I just don't see it as a long term viable strategy and can only assume that the annual cost will rise at some point. £7bn for Bethesda, has to be paid for someway. Some of the smaller studios are already saying they've made no money from being on Gamepass and just have had increased player bases, so to me, something seems very odd with the model at the moment.

PS4 > PS5 for me has been a game changer to be honest. I'm much more likely to whack it on when I've only got say 30 minutes to kill as I know I'll be playing pretty much straight away, whereas on PS4 there'd be a good wait etc... My PS4 largely gathered dust outside of a big game launch. Graphics wise, the devs are a year - 2 behind this gen, but they're getting there, and it's normal. The new controller has been the biggest improvement for me though. That said, certain games are still much better on keyboard and mouse, I couldn't play Skyrim on a console, or RTS games.

Wasn’t accusing you of being a fanboy mon, was just clarifying that I wasn’t.

no worries LOL It's so weird that these days we all feel the need to say we're not one! My nephew is loving Gamepass too, for me I just don't get it. Then again, until torrents die I probably never will!

Deathloop reviews are strong.

Looking forward to playing it tomorrow.

Deathloop is good but it’s fucking hard! Done the tutorial sections and out into the main game. Haven’t even managed to take one of the visionaries down yet.

What’s frustrating is that I can see what needs to happen - open windows, places to teleport to, etc but need to earn the slabs to be able to do so first… which is the challenge.

Far cry 3 was free last weekend on PC, got a copy and been playing it all week. Very good.

Started playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider, so far really enjoying it. Will move on to Horizon Zero Dawn after I cracked that.

I played through the last of us 2 the other week, very depressing but thought it was very well done as you see the story from different perspectives. 10 out of 10 for me on that one.

I've once again returned to the safety net of no man's Sky.

Got to face my dad in Hades, after 32 attempts, so will likely go back and try to finish that again soon. It's not hooked me as much as I expected, but it's decent to whack on when WFH and having no inspiration to actually do the W part!

Deathloop reviews have been excellent and I will no doubt pick up soon

Currently a couple of missions into Hitman 2 that I ignored first time around, on PS Plus currently
