John Virgo RIP

Loved his impressions of other players back in the day. He was the best thing for snooker popularity since colour tv. The players always knew when he was commentating because the audience would suddenly burst into laughter for no apparent reason. RIP fella

Good character. I guess it must have been sudden if he’s been out and about lately.

I’d like to think his last words were “Hang on, where’s that white going? Oh, it’s approaching me.”

RIP, John. Gave us some good commentary moments, and couldn’t have been easy working with Jim Davidson.

He was commentating for the Beeb only last week.

90's Saturday evening gameshows were unrivalled. I'm just seeing a lot of clips pop up now.

The sodding prizes. I'm aware time makes them seem worse than they actually were, but were they shit at the time? I've just seen one where the main prize is an answer phone, FFS.
