It was a brilliant save no question.

But Banksesque?  Nowhere near.

Banks had to move from his near post where he'd positioned himself.
Pele met Jairzinhos bullet cross with a header angled down just inside the far post.

Banks meantime had made 6 yards across his goaline in about a second and managed to scoop the ball over the bar.

Craig Gordon's was a brilliant save. Gordon Bank's was out of this world.

I've only seen one angle, and it looked like Gordon had to make up a few yards. Banks-esque doesn't mean it's as good as Banks, just that it's similar, and that was the feeling I had when i saw it. I remember seeing Banks' save from the front rather than behind the goal, it truly was probably the best save in recorded football history.

Don’t think I will ever see Banks save bettered nobody expected him to get from one side of the goal to the other and get it over the bar. It really was unbelievable.
But Gordon today was a wonderful save.

Kuszczak at Wigan.

Just seen. A great sav eindeed. But there have been many before this save and, for sure, many more after but Banks' save is streets ahead.
