Laughter

It's weird, when you think about it, like really think about it.

An involuntary reaction that makes you sound like a gorilla and provokes others to do the same. Mental!

Laughter pre-dates language and is common amongst primates, who were laughing long before homo-sapiens appeared on the planet. It'd helped / helps build social bonds and is has been essential to our evolution.

Reminds me of that old Bob Monkhouse joke " people laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian, well they're not laughing now"

It was the social element that got me thinking.  The missus was laughing to herself as she listened to a podcast (earphones in) and I wondered "if she's not laughing with someone else present, what's the purpose of laughter?"

A wet Thursday musing...

So, how does any of this explain the car crash that is Mrs Brown's Boys?

Who was around to confirm that they were laughing before Homo-sapiens? If the prior could not speak...

TBF I laughed at the premise that existed before anyone could prove it existed... How do we know that primates weren't miserable cunts before man kind learned to speak?
