Away Games

That's true but momentum is important and it's far more likely you go on a bad run when you have such an imbalanced sequence. Even if we win all our home games, we could end up with 6 points from 21. Whilst I'm sure everyone on here will be understanding and stoical if that happens, and there'll be no pant wetting, it will still be tough to take.  Smile

Just seems strange and unnecessary to me. I'm sure when I was a kid you were at home one week and away the next, and anything else was a bit of an anomaly.

Whilst technically true, it's bobbins to say you have to play them all twice and therefore doesn't matter.   Tough starts or runs (or vice versa) can change a season.  As a newly promoted Prem team if you get the top 5/6 clubs in a row at the start of the season then you're under huge pressure when playing a winnable game.  A pressure that managers, players and fans maybe can't handle, whereas another team can have it the other way round, get some points on the board and then the top 6 games are free shots.

There's a reason why it's commonly accepted that when teams get a bad start it's very difficult to pull yourself out of a relegation scrap.   Momentum and confidence in football means so much and as such I offer the 2002 Championship promotion race as my first piece of evidence!

Good points both, I just think 'sod 'em all, we'll beat everyone. Regardless when we play 'em!' Big Grin

I don't look at our fixtures too much, so hadn't clocked the fact we've got 5 out of 7 away. That's a bit of an anomaly, but I think it could work in our favour, given we've started better away from home than at home.

Oh that’s why we were away Saturday and you at home then.
