My way of looking at it is that it’s a good wake-up call at the right time. Defensively we are fine in my view. The problems begin where games are won and lost - midfield. Expecting the Mowatt and Moulumby combo to bear fruit is a naivety, Price is being impeded by their collective ability to all tread on each other, and Heggebo is simply too goal shy. Yesterday’s set-up was perfect for an away game against a good opposition - but a home one against poor? No. It all fell apart in the final third.

I’m confident Mason will reflect upon all of this, but we could have played all night yesterday and not scored. Goals win games - not canny defensive signings alone.

But stating the obvious,  a goal against those sides parking the bus and everything changes. They have to open up and leave more gaps for us. There are always games like yesterday.  But I'm not actually as convinced by the defence. Looking at our goals conceded, there has been some poor ones. I'm sure this is on Mason's mind hence Campbell not overlapping yesterday. IMO. I'm a positive sort of fan so happy to reserve judgement on this relatively new bunch.

We have a really tough run of games now, so expectations need to be tempered.
We've lost the last 3 against Boro, which was the same as Derby, I think?
Leicester is even worse, with just 1 point from the last 8 games.

Cool heads required otherwise the Bagwash will be overwhelmed by all the wet pants.
