At the risk of playing the age card (again)...the best I've seen was Don Howe.
Years ahead of his time. Attacking FB.
24 caps iirc when he was competing with Jimmy Armfield for the England RB place .
Everything I've seen since the 60s sadly pales somewhat compared to when we were a top team.

I go back to the 70's Allen team. The best I ever saw was Graham Hareby?? Potter wasn't much better.
