They have Liverpool away on Wednesday.

But we have to start winning games otherwise they just need to pick up a few more points.

What we have now that Sheff U don't for example, is a beast of a centre-forward and we need to maximise that advantage on Tuesday as we did 2nd half yesterday.

Tonight's result is an even bigger kick in the balls for Sheff U as they are now 15 points from safety.

I'm sure in light of tonight's unexpected result there will have been an emergency board meeting.

Later today will be interesting to say the least.  Will they decide to pull the plug on any deals or somehow manage to persuade Lai to push the boat out a bit.

Window closes in 21.5 hrs.

Hoppy, lots of ifs there.

Put simply, if Brighton get half the points from their remaining fixtures they’ve taken from their previous games we pretty much have to get double what we’ve taken just to pull level.

It’s not going to happen.

It probably sounds ridiculous on the face of it but if Sam gets half a new team and we got to 40 points what Brighton do or don't do may be irrelevant.

If we're going to stay up,  sooner or later we're going to have to go on a run.  If we do we have a chance, if not we're down.  Stating the bleeding obvious I know!

I respect your optimism Athers, but there really is no chance.
The only run we are likely to go on is a losing one.

Aside from the obvious and much-discussed reasons, Norwich aren't even promoted yet. The Championship is very tight indeed this year.

And we aren't gone until there's an R next to our name on the table!

Big Dave nearly kept us up with 6 games left.

Big Sam has 17.

Long way to go.

It's been mostly a disaster so far but when you change the 'culture' from a people orientated to a harder results based one with a more straight talking ruthless management style,  new people coming in etc etc.. things usually get a lot worse for a while until all the new things start to align (sometimes they don't lol).

Somehow,  we need to keep a clean sheet at Sheff U tomorrow - if we do I think we can score and win the game.

Big Sam will then have all his new recruits and can settle on an appropriate formation and personnel.  As we go forward,  the latter may obviously change depending on who we're playing but hopefully the 11 on the pitch will be of a much higher quality than the day Sam arrived and hopefully we will start to get results.

All ifs buts and mebbes I know,  but we'll see.

One thing you have to say is that at least Sam has come in does his assessment and is making things happen.

I actually don't think Slav was too far away and there were a lot of games we should have got something but didn't.  We'll never know whether he was on the cusp of something and whether he'd have been backed in Jan but I don't think we'd have seen any drastic change in the way we were playing.

Euros is a disruption...but no way we shouldn’t have a new man in place almost as soon as the final ball is kicked this season.
