RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SuperBob2002 - 07-02-2023 When was the last time we beat the Aussies in an Ashes Test. Was it Headingly? Not sure but someone will be sure to correct me. Pindgill loves an England defeat, its the only time he appears on this Albion forum. The Aussies dish it out, but are the first to complain when they get anything back. I really hope we can take the emotions from this game into the rest of the series. We were so focused after the incident, and we need to show that same intensity going forwards. Should be a spicy game next week! RE: It's The Ashes (again) - rsbaggy2 - 07-02-2023 Headingley will be a cauldron of emotions. Not sure but someone will be sure to correct me. It is of course possible to be stumped after having got back, depending on when the keeper takes the bails off if the batter then leaves his crease again The only grey area today was whether the umpire had actually called over. Stokes seemed to say in his interview that over had been called, but I think it was merely inferred by the umpire starting to prepare to hand the bowler his cap. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - rsbaggy2 - 07-02-2023 I refer you to Foulkes v Balbirnie. Sky said this was quick thinking ... to me he waited for the moment. Carey's throw was instantaneous. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/cricket/11710581/quick-thinking-foakes-stumps-balbirnie RE: It's The Ashes (again) - pindgill - 07-02-2023 (07-02-2023, 06:12 PM)Tom Joad Wrote:(07-02-2023, 05:44 PM)pindgill Wrote:(07-02-2023, 05:06 PM)Cuzer Wrote:(07-02-2023, 05:03 PM)rsbaggy2 Wrote: Wasn't De Grandhomme dismissed by Pope in similar fashion last year? Not sure but someone will be sure to correct me. I'm never ambivalent, The report confirmed the likes of me also didnt get a fair crack at playing. Times changed.. I genuinely don't see any racial discrimination at my local cricket club, nor any grammar school bias. I would love to have the facilities and opportunities that are available now And don't fucking start me on Australians, just go over and try those twats out. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Ted Maul - 07-03-2023 I genuinely think I've woken up today more cross at the cricket than I have an Albion result for about 18 months. Fucking snides.
