RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SausEggBaton - 06-20-2023 Nevermind, great match though. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - rsbaggy2 - 06-20-2023 Another edgbaston classic. Win for the Aussies but the bigger picture ... it's a win for test cricket ... the best format. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - strawman - 06-20-2023 Any chance of playing a keeper in the next test or are we gonna stay with dropsy ? RE: It's The Ashes (again) - MancBaggie - 06-20-2023 Great game tbf. Swung so many ways Good knock from the skipper after a brilliant hand from Khawaja RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Borin' Baggie - 06-20-2023 Right then, great game but the debrief has to look at Bairstow keeping as the big reason we lost that one. In reality, I never really thought we looked like we were going to do it after tea. Shame, fair dues to the oppositon, whom I loathe. I genuinely feel for Bairstow. He's not a genuine wicket keeper and has been asked to take the gloves, but his dropped catches and missed stumping have probably cost his team the match. Would we have won this test with Foakes behind the stumps? Next Test I'd go; Bairstow Duckett Pope Root Brook Foakes (WK) Stokes (If fit?) Robinson Broad Anderson (Insert full time spinner here) RE: It's The Ashes (again) - rsbaggy2 - 06-20-2023 (06-20-2023, 06:26 PM)Cunninghamismagic Wrote:(06-19-2023, 12:21 PM)Cunninghamismagic Wrote: Early declaration in the 1st innings looking ill advised It provided us with a great test match.
