Yes, Bilkul have made mistakes, but so have plenty of new owners. Hull are doing well now, but they've had a bumpy ride for a few seasons and chose to get rid of Rosenior. Probably plenty of other examples too.
It's not very stats driven to think about luck, but weirdly under Lai, despite the first relegation, we had quite a bit. A loans manager who happened to stop the club falling to pieces post relegation, accidentally stumbling on one of the best Championship players in recent times, Brentford falling apart at exactly the right time and Corberán bizarrely getting the sack after eight weeks, ensuring he was available for us.
In contrast, we've been unlucky under Bilkul in quite a few ways. Mason was like a man who'd smashed a mirror while walking under a ladder

Looking at that list it's pretty clear owning a football club isn't for the business side of things.
Most heavily debt laden with the players taking home most of the revenue. Would like to see a similar table for the prem and league 1 tbh.

What stopped it happening the first time? As presumably the the sale to Patel stopped the second time it could have happened.
Not glossing over it not being ideal of course, but administration doesnt mean the club ceasing to exist of course.
