RE: It's The Ashes (again) - wba13 - 07-28-2023 Incorrect decision was made it was out, but you have to remember the so called neutral umpires in this series have sided with the Aussies on controversial calls. So it was never gonna be given. So any gain made in time by bazball will be taken up by a review. You can't have your cake and consume it they say. But this England side are unquestionably better than SA NZ and (despite an excellent series in SL) Pakistan Josh has a point tbf. Attacking Test cricket is great but the oval is all about a decent score first dig and then the pitch gets harder to bat on by the day. There’s a fine line between attacking and just tossing top 7 wickets away RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SuperBob2002 - 07-28-2023 Another great day of cricket. We can argue and fall out about styles, but Test cricket is anything but dull and boring. It's by far the greatest form of the game. James Anderson reveals on @bbctms that if there was one over left to face today, he’d have opened the batting. Devastated we didn't get to see this. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - wba13 - 07-28-2023 Stewart Broad has done it again, he’s got under the Aussies skin, just by touching the bails, next ball Lamburchagne is out. They were laughing at the time but now Magrarth and the Aussie team are fuming. Go get em Broady . RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Cheshire East Baggie - 07-28-2023 Oh Jimmy, Jimmy - - - One thing we've learned today is that England will carry a passenger in their bowling attack until the GOAT gets his 700 wickets or does the decent thing and packs it in. 5 wickets for close on 400 runs so far in this series. It was legit to pick him for Edgbaston because of his recent record, but after that no show we should have picked a team to win. Cronyism and sentiment doesn't win Test series. Broad always turns it on for the Ashes. Woakes had the best figures. Wood scared the pants off them. Robinson, Tongue and Potts can all watch and wonder "When do I get a chance?" Broad is undeniably our leading seam bowler on present form, never mind history. But the continued selection of Jimmy is perplexing. He'll probably take five in the second innings. |
