RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Fido - 07-20-2023 Very enjoyable watch, this. Need to capitalise with this softing ball and the Aussie shoulders slumping. He's played how many tests and averages under 30? The criticism is perfectly fair. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - ChamonixBaggie - 07-20-2023 Crawley's had a bit of luck go his way this innings which he hasn't had before in terms of where his edges have ended up. He was due it to be fair! Great strike rate to keep the pressure on the aussies and Root not hanging around either. I'm at Edgbaston so haven't seen it, but assume he's batted well! I'm on annual leave. But I've been known to work from Edgbaston on occasions ![]() (07-20-2023, 02:10 PM)ChamonixBaggie Wrote: Crawley's had a bit of luck go his way this innings which he hasn't had before in terms of where his edges have ended up. I've clearly been a massive critic of Crawley, but you seldom see a perfect century. You need a bit of luck to craft a good innings. As I say, I'm not watching, but it does sound like he's had plenty of luck, but the record or score card won't show that. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Hughie Reed 31 - 07-20-2023 Wow what an afternoon session over 7 runs an over Unbelievable cricket. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Lurker#3 - 07-20-2023 Perfect execution of our new attacking mentality. Really dominant. Keep it up. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Cuzer - 07-20-2023 Never underestimate Bazball, Jesus I did not see this coming when it was swinging all over the shop 8 overs in Shame if the weather plays a big part as this effort from England so far has been phenomenal Cuzer RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Borin' Baggie - 07-20-2023 Joe Root, that is taking the piss RE: It's The Ashes (again) - backsidebaggie - 07-20-2023 (07-20-2023, 11:23 AM)backsidebaggie Wrote:(07-20-2023, 11:22 AM)Cuzer Wrote: Shame the weather is likely to intervene Cuzer, told ya we could do it! It's on! (I didn't actually think we would either )

I said earlier if we score 400 today it'd be special. We won't be far off at this rate. It really is something else. I'm now back watching it and Crawley has played 3 lovely shots since tea. Two down the ground in two balls and another just now. My biggest concern at this style of cricket is that they ignore the match situation. But if we're to force victory this is the right thing to do. The situation of the series dictates that we must do all we can to win. Massive shout out to Sam Hain of Warwickshire. Currently 9 off 68 balls. Proper cricket that. Shove your 174 off 166 balls up your arse! |
