Indeed.

Something about Smith, maybe that sneeriness, makes you want to smack him round the chops with an off kipper.

Wasnt he born in West Bromwich yet supported Villa? Chunt.

This is a geographical thing as ever. If you live nearer Brum it’s Villa and Wolves if you live in the Black Country beyond Halesowen.
Being Bearwood bred, Wolves never meant much. Bomber Brown has always said he was told it was about beating the Villa.
The 90s, Steve Bull era cranked the Wolves rivalry to a new level. I do agree that they have more knucklehead fans. Horrible club.
I do think the rivalry between us and the Villa has come back in recent years though. The likes of the Cup Quarter final and the playoffs have reignited a rivalry dormant due to the way we were so far behind them in the 90s and for the first decade of this century.

Had to cheer Wolves goals today.

Exactly the opposite for me.

Yup.  I grew up in W'ton and my brother-in-law was a an ex-member of their mob so I was typically given a relatively easy ride.  That was until match days when i was warned explicitly that if i showed my face in town my safety couldn't be guaranteed (i worked at a pub by the Molineux at the time).  This was from blokes who were buying me pints the night before (Howie, Tyson, Jeremy Beadle/little handed cunt).

There's a sizeable minority of their fans that are absolute animals.  Anyone who went during the 1990s will vouch for that.  Bricks, concrete and piss raining down on you.

I've witnessed some trouble at Villa (not missed an away match there in three decades), but never such extreme widespread violence.  Believe me, no Albion fan would be cheering for Wolves if they'd witnessed the sheer hatred their fans have for us.

Some of those games in the 90’s were absolutely brutal outside the grounds, I was also in the South Bank for the 2-2 when White and Goodman scored I think and the fuckers were lobbing concrete at us over the segregation

Cuzer

When we beat them 2-1 (1994?) with Super Bob and Morden scoring we were kept in at the end and when we were let out the concrete rained down on us from the ring road.

‘‘Twas before that when as Cuzer said Whyte scored, half their stadium was closed at the time.

Somewhere around the 90/91 season I think. Luckily kept out of the way of the concrete coming over. Game I remember because Ugo Ehiogu was standing near us who had been in our youth team at the time.

That's why I can't stand Plant.

To be fair to Plant, his old man was from Kidde and a Wolves fan.
Plant was still living in West Brom just before he made the big time with Led Zeppelin.
Was Tony Ford who scored when the concrete was raining down, season before was crazy too (night game) followed a load of our nutters from the Bus station , but broke away from them when they started putting the windows through on the George pub (Royal London now I think?)

Adrian Foster (remember him??) scored for us that night .
