Pundits stopped predicting we’d go down when Pulis turned up.
We'll be in the mix I'd have thought. But are we capable of finishing above Fulham, Palace, Leeds, Newcastle, Brighton, Sheff U, Burnley, West Ham and the purple cunts? Yes.
If we get 38 points we'll stay up. Let's not worry about other sides.

I worry they’ll get 39 points.

With our loan players having returned, Brentford and Fulham probably have stronger squads than both us and Leeds.

Based on current starting XIs there’s not a lot between us and Leeds -but they allegedly have more cash.

Yes they are. We will strengthen. Plus it has been said before and the pundits were wrong. I think we'll be ok. Let's just watch ourselves, fuck the others and the know -nothing pundits. They all thought Brentford were nailed on to go up and they didn't.

Bookies odds are largely reflective of the situation right now, and at this exact moment I’d say we were one of the favourites for the bottom three. Yes, we’ll strengthen but then so will the other 19 teams. Some will buy well, others won’t. Hopefully we’ll be in the first group. Sign a few players and our odds might change slightly, who knows?

Either way calling a betting firm “wankers” for daring to suggest we’ll go down is pretty childish.
Betting firms are wankers. They make money out of people's addictions.

Not according to our wage bill

Leeds and Fulham have higher wage bills than us...

Ours was £46m last season and was reduced substantially this summer.
Leeds’ was £46m last season and wasn’t...

Fulham’s was well over £100m when they came down, so would expect it’s comfortably above ours again...

I’m not writing us off, I’m merely saying that out of us, Leeds and Fulham, we probably have the weaker of the 3 squads given we’ve lost 3 first team regulars.

I realise we’ll strengthen, but so will they... and they will be doing so from a stronger starting point, and presumably with more money.

We just have to be far more savvy in the market then they are.
As ever there will be the top few on a different solar system, a small handful in the middle and about 7 or 8 who are much of a muchness bar the occasional dud, like Norwich were this year.
We’re back to where we were in 2011 and just hope we can have a similar spell for a few seasons before gravity drags the likes of us down again.
Let’s hope it’s more 2011 than Mowbrays 2009 side.

Utter wankers.

We are viewed in the same manner as Norwich. And you can bet your bottom dollar that when the pundits pick the relegation teams at the start of the season, it will be the same.

I hope we have some of the teams still in europe early on. We might sneak some points off them at this stage.

The bookies faves for relegation last season was Sheff U of course.  Rolleyes

Why does that make them wankers exactly?

Wankers excessive but given we finished above both it's not exactly accurate.

If the season started right now I’d probably have us as favourites to go down.

of course you would you idjut!

Just ask Sheffield Utd.

Thanks Mart for translating what I said!

Exactly, a voice of reason at last!

And yes I don't care - was  just stating the fucking obvious really 10 weeks before the window closes.

That comment made me laugh.
Half the comments on here therefore fall into the"childish" category!
Page 3 of most threads is where the name calling starts, and where I, and most of us I guess, switch off.

I've noticed lately more thoughtful comments though.
Which is why it's worth reading.

I'm not very clued up on Fulham and Leeds squads. But Leeds have White on loan, Fulham have Reed, crucial players. Probably others.
We're all probably in the same boat..
Forget Bet365, most on here were tipping us for relegation when the clock had just gone 2130 a fortnight ago.

The bastard champagne corks hadn't landed and we were arguing over whether Johnstone was good enough or not, or why we have no money to spend.
