Oh well, selfish post alert (as virtually all of this nature are):
I've only got a 2019 tax file, and it was only for January to March 2019, although it was the same amount each month. As I only started being self employed in Jan 2019. I lost my main contract in January this year, then got no more, and the company still owe me 2 invoices... and with the way things are I had started applying for regular work again, which obviously isn't going to happen anytime soon.
Thankfully I saved money whilst I was earning in case of a few rainy months, which seems to make me a very rare case with the self employed, as I'm not clamouring for loads of Government money. So you have to wait til June and then they check your last 3 years files, I'll have 16 months filed...but in effect the virus was the tin hat on forcing me to apply for regular work, how the Hell could I prove that? No idea.
Thank fuck I was sensible and didn't spunk all my earnings as I think I'd be up shit street right now otherwise. As Tom Joad said I'd also be more than happy with £300 per week flat rate, despite the 80% / maximum being way down on what I was getting. I'll probably get jack all, but even if that's the case I won't be blaming the Government for it.
