Mike was diagnosed 2 years ago with bowel cancer & it was manageable up until a few weeks ago when he wasn't feeling too good, luckily he was due his 6 monthly CTscan 2 weeks ago & follow up with his Consultant where he was told he had a perforated bowel & it was palliative care only, he held on for a week but died peacefully & pain free on Tuesday.
& those of you of a certain age who get those (FIT) self testing kits & ignore them like he did, you know it makes sense to get checked out so please do it's not the nicest of things to do but it takes literally seconds

Paula, first and foremost condolences to yourself and your family; even at this most trying of times there is a quiet civility to your posts which should be an example to us all.
I totally endorse the second part of your post: it's not something any of us much fancy, it's not infallible, but it is worthwhile.
Best, as always, Oss
