I may be in the minority but I don't want him back, did he not want to come back in August when he had the chance? Loves us doesn't he ?

That’s way off the mark.  He simply wanted a permanent transfer rather than yet another loan move.  He’s at an age with a young family where short-term loans disrupt family life too much.  I understand he’d have jumped at a permanent move to us and to several other Championship clubs but he is only affordable for most Championship clubs, including us, on a loan basis.

I thought it was a permanent he was offered?

It was. He turned it down.

He wasn’t offered a permanent with us, it was a loan and guaranteed permanent IF we got promoted

Future fee etc was agreed with Newcastle but Gayle wanted a permanent deal immediately

On WM, they said the Blues apparently had a deal agreed for £10million and then on deadline day Newcastle wanted £15 instead.

And he may well have gone there.  Point is (re earlier posts) that he didn’t turn down a permanent move to us as we only offered an initial loan.

Blues, Stoke, Forest will all be in for him in January, and this will only drive his price and expectations higher.... we’re better off out of it.

Not sure any of them can afford close to £15m or his wages

Not a cat in hell's chance of us spending that kind of money for the foreseeable. Not a cat in hell's chance of us attracting any player of that calibre. Count us out.

Blues’ owners have money and with their FFP issues navigated (allegedly) they’ll be looking to make a push... Forest are amongst a couple clubs like Sheff Wed with owners with deep pockets and a tendency to make shit or bust decisions!

Surely whether Blues owners have money or not their income levels must be pretty shite. Must still be fairly restricted in what they can spend.

If Blues make decisions like that they’ll soon have serious fresh FFP problems !  Likewise Sheffield Wednesday.   Forest or Fulham far more likely.

Where has it been said Blues have cash (reliable source)?
