Tapering down and doing shorter sessions at marathon pace or lactate threshold. Feels weird after so many long runs.
How did this go?
Did it in 3hrs 50. Went well Til 20 miles then hit a wall. Stopped briefly at 22, rang the Missus and she told me to sort myself out! Finished the last mile well but miles 20-25 cost me 15/20mins in total. Pleased to get it done but a bit disappointed at the same time.
I always think just doing it is an achievement.
Why not put yourself down to do a 1/2 and then a full marathon?
None of us are getting any younger and as the years go by, middle age spread may catch up with you if you’re not careful.
I told you I’ll be back
