Managed to get out for 4 miles this morning before it gets too hot.
Starting to rethink my excercise goals, now I’m past 40 and the joints aren’t what they used to be and the dad bod is creeping in. Done two half marathons this year (Brighton in Feb and Hackney in May) and both almost killed me, Hackney was especially tough. Think I’m going to knock racing on the head going forward, I’ve done the London Marathon and several half’s which I can be happy with, but the distance is too much at the moment. Maybe when the kids are a bit older and I’m less knackered all the time I’ll reconsider but going forward I’ll be doing 10k’s max and running just for the enjoyment and to stave off the inevitable rise of the dad bod.
