Brexit countdown

Of course Brexit has played a part, even if that part is only the trigger or opportunity.

The car industry is in turmoil, Diesel, costs and diminishing sales. Honda and the Swindon plant are
worse than many, they produced 4 models at it's height now down to one. The site is vastly under
utilised and Honda and the Civic model have dropped way down car buyers shopping lists.

Lets not forget that Honda was tempted to the UK by our government with a venture with the then
British Leyland, that all went wrong when BMW came in, and promptly left having secured the 4x4
technology that it wanted along with the new Mini model.

It is a closure decision that is probably long overdue, dreadful for those at Swindon, but perfect
sense for Honda who will want to divert all the development costs for new electric cars at Japan
not Europe.

OK you're right, nothing at all to do with the clusterfuck of a decision that was Brexit. I stand corrected.

At a time when all of the above was happening (and foreseeable) why wouldn't we start off tilting at windmills and showing the world how stable and investable (is that a word) we were.
