Disappointing and Disappointed

Too negative.

Worked hard, defended well for most of the game, but we invited so much pressure and the further the game went on the more we retreated.

And the time wasting backfired in a massive and unexpected way. You can blame the ref all you want, but a second yellow was nailed on as soon as Gayle went into that challenge with the goalkeeper, the ball wasn't really there to be won, but it would have been of little consequence if we hadn't been time wasting.

Nailed on if you have a biased homer ref. He was perfectly entitled to go for that challenge

Anyone could see the fish munchers were going to score with us giving them so much of the ball. It gave them confidence to play, we should have been aggressively getting in their faces for the 2nd half

For me, if you're going to play negative, you need the players who can do it. If Field had been on the pitch (or Barry or even Livermore) it's unlikely Hourihane could have stood there waving his arms for so long without being spotted. Woeful marking from our excuse for a midfield.

Very good post.

Always a danger when playing 3 midfielders that you give space away, said it at the start.
