I was having a shit time in my mid 20s, doing a crap job I hated, and Albion were as bad as my life, and with a shirt that epitomised just how hopeless the world was.
Looking back now, i think it was the wobbly lines that really pushed it’s carp levels. Arguably a neater bar stripe could work in the future... mebbes.
Nostalgia can add to feelings. If you were 10 and going up the Albion then and it reminds you of your youthful innocence I get the connection, but anyone removed from the nostalgia must be aware it is an utter abomination.
Regarding the kit/kits. I think if we wanted to be slighly imaginative, we could have blue and white stripes with the red piping on either side of the stripes. It would gain a mild reaction but still be different.
To me, the best Albion shirt is the late 70s when we were boss. It also helped that I was a prepubescent child and life was good.
