Wow.

This is a light hearted thread about yesteryear ffs.

Every local pub has a miserable moaning git who walks in and totally kills any joyous occasion or conversation. WBAU is no different.

It was said as sarcasm as romanticising the past is daft. There were some good bits but just as many bad bits. Sorry if the reality of those days offends.

Here’s some memories to cheer you up… seats with Panini Stickers on. The Rainbow stands wooden shack loo which for at least a decade was never cleaned. The inflatable Throstles.

The wooden shed next to the BRE urinals (worthy of a thread of their own) that was the 70's club shop, rammed like an Aladdin's Cave with scarves, hats, home and away programmes from all previous games that season, patches to sew on your scarf, lapel badges and occassional exotic items like tracksuit tops.

You're going on about the 80/90s man, some of us go back further to when it was a joy to go, particularly late 60s early 70s.

60's and 70's were great times, what fantastic players we had. The big difference was attitude. We went for games and took the points.

The big difference is we can’t afford the players to compete at the level we once were at.
