Copied email to their MP:

"If this article is correct the Government’s announcement doesn’t do anything for UK Vineyards. The only ones to benefit will be the Australians importing into the UK. The Government should be promoting UK Vineyards and the growing of vines in the UK, not encouraging the importation of foreign imported grape juice.

This is in no way a positive of Brexit, not that I can see any benefits of Brexit, in so far as the economy is concerned its only be negative."

And you have to ask yourself why these barriers are in place when they were wholly unnecessary before.

The Brexit deal is a totemic failure of statecraft on both sides of the channel.

Bollocks.  When you leave the club on your own voliition after spitting at the other members through client media, you pay the price of being out of the Customs Union and Single Market.  Deluded cakeism.

Exactly. It’s embarrassing to think that Brexiteers thought we could just leave the EU and still have all the perks of being in the club.

I sincerely hope this was a wind up attempt for your sake.

The funniest part is while it was arguably a naive delusion prior to the vote, it still persists today. In the mind of some, at least.

Brexit will cut the red tape!  No regard whatsoever to what is to be a third country to the EU.  Not a fucking clue.

By all means have grounds to wish to leave the EU but also accept there would serious consequences that can't be wished away "because it ay fair."

The article is about tariffs and NTBs erected by the EU on the import of apples and pears, where previously there were none.

I can take the pathetic and consistent bullying on here, but is there anyone on here who seriously believes that sort of self-harm is a rational trade policy?

I don't. Ergo - lack of statecraft.
