What, of course, this article doesn't say is that cars imported from the EU will also be hit with tariffs as they can't fulfill the criteria either.

Which rather suggests that it's a stupid policy, and ought to be abandoned.

Good job that the UK has a coherent battery manufacturing strategy and hasn't just given public money to cowboys.

Oh wait...

Unemployment up. Vacancies down. Inflation sky high. Interest rates up. Defaults and bankruptcy up. Reposessions and possession orders up.

All going well.

Speaking of blue passports, if we were going down the blue passports route why couldn't we have done what Canada have done?

Also why is their quality shit?

That as well. Though the car manufacturers are hardly blameless, particularly JLR.

Less so than an incompetent political party that is intent in it's desire to screw over every single industry that isn't financial services.

I despair at comments like that. They're simply not grounded in reality. They may be incompetent, but to suggest there's some sort of deliberate attempt to screw over every industry other than financial services is bananas. They've just handed out £billions in free money during Covid and the energy crisis, or did you miss that?
