The Irish are fucking terrible. Just as bad as the English. British Isles in general don’t travel well .

Hence I stay away from those areas especially during school holidays.
Yes of course. But it's easy to avoid these places if you want to.
Islands in the Canaries, or hotels in Ibiza, Majorca are places I'm thinking of.
Also it depends what type of holiday you want. Sky football English spoken and beer...well if that's your bag then fine.
But I know where you are and I'm not going there!

However the Canadians, what a bunch of annoying loud mouthed fuckers they can be. Which surprised me, since usually it's the Yanks, but put some Canucks near booze and it all goes tits up fast.

Ruskies / Eastern Europeans just seem to love bossing staff around, being arrogant and seem to think they own every place they go. Probably most of them who can afford such holidays tend to be 'made' anyway, so are used to having their will carried out.

Wondering what in particular the OP has encountered to post it?

We were in Dominican Rep a few years ago and the all inclusive beer was as weak as piss, a smoggie and i watched England get knocked a tournmament by Portugal and drank non stop for 6 hours and jusyt got bloated on the beer

Next morning a group of Canadians were in the pool area drinking beer and starting messing about and being generally loud and obnoxious and frightening the kids

Security were called and they were escorted to their rooms , they had to be carried as they were so pissed, it was 11am

Yeah it was Caribbean / Mexico where we encountered the fugged up Cannucks. That said, never encountered beer that was weak in eitehr place, then again I stuck mainly to the rum, tequila and mezcal Big Grin

We booked a holiday in Tenerife a few years back, off the internet. Had never been before, Puerto De La Cruz sounded great. It was, but was a `German`resort. Bar up the road advertised `Live Sky Sports Football`, so went in... sat through Hamburg vs Schalke or whatever.
At the airport coming back had the misfortune to sit by some dipsticks from Essex, one of whom came out with a classic, `Innit marvellous ay, these `ere Spanish places, dunno how they do it, even little kids can speak Spanish`.

Bar the odd exception tend to find the Brits that go to those places good natured and often footy fans you can chat with. Prefer them to the snooty types who say they would avoid such places
All day mate. Nothing better than sitting in the sun having a beer with a fan of *Insert name of any one of 90 English football clubs, or any number from abroad* and realising we are all going through the same old shit!
If, on the other hand I get chatting to the one that says "I'm not really into football" it's "Ok mate, have a good holiday" followed by a sharp exit.

The Costas and the like are derided by the deluded who "wouldn't be seen dead there", yet are a wonderful opportunity for families, especially those on low incomes (like mine growing up) to see a bit of the world outside of these shores.
As an adult I've travelled to many a far flung destination, but nothing will beat getting off that plane for the first time, for my first holiday abroad in Lloret-de-Mar.
Snap Bob my then Girlfriend and soon to be wife, arrived at the Hotel Oasis park Lloret-de Mar in September 1970 for our first of now many excursions abroad.great memories.

Funny, but it doesn't matter how many times you travel, you never forget that blast of pure heat the first time you get off the plane in Spain.
