Understandable when you remember they have played every single match in every tournament they have been in this season.
Well earlier in the season back in december, Liverpool did play away at Wolves and won 1-0.
My point made clumsily, is to what extent are teams like Liverpool and Man City playing at below full capacity for most of the season, because they are aware of how many games they have to play. So they try to conserve as much as energy during games by doing just enough .
At the moment Man City are incentivised to give it all in each game, and the results are noticeable. I wouldn't normally expect them to score 5 at Wolves.
Liverpool don't have that luxury.
Liverpool were probably playing against a more motivated and in form Wolves side.
They gave City a decent game and didn't roll over but this time of season the beach is never far away from the minds of those with nothing to play for.
