Agreed a ten year lease at just over £1 mill a year.
Imagine if you were to do this with your house, it’s only going to end in tears, and I take no pleasure in this situation.

Shopping complex in 11 years time then.

Ground share with Cov at their ground if they have one.

On a serious note, how would people feel if Blues paid us us to play at our ground?

Only issue I'd have with a ground share is it would fugg up the pitch. Particularly if both teams were in the EFL where there are more games than in the Prem.
Coventry wouldn't be a ground share option for them as they will already be sharing the Ricoh with Wasps.

Given they’ve signed a 10yr lease it’s not one to concern ourselves with now!

Desperation time when a club sells its ground and leases it back. Usually ends in tears.

Perhaps we should do it to get the much needed Halfords 2nd tier  Tongue

After what nearly happened to Wrexham (years long court battle to stop stadium being knocked down to build a supermarket), football clubs should not be allowed to sell their stadiums.

But fans are morons. If a shiny new owner said he was selling the Hawthorns to "push the club to the next level", most fans would lap it up gladly.

Very sorry for Blues. They deserve better.

Blues always feel like a club in crisis. Have generally always felt pity for them.

I am usually as cynical as you on the ownership issue but I think a lot of fans are becoming more aware of the "financial chicanery" of owners who appear out of nowhere with little connection to the area. Lets see how Burnley, Wigan and Wrexham get on over the next couple of years

Comes to something when Gold, Sullivan and Brady are your best owners in a long time.

There's a frightening level of unrealistic expectations in fans who make their voice heard on the radio and at stadiums. Generally they are the minority.
Think the porn Barons hadn't the resilience for criticism myself.

Blues had some great years and a cup, but they are a similar club to us and 25 others where we can expect to be mid Prem at tops and shouldn't really be below mid table champ.

You get ones that punch above their weight for a while and ones that punch below theirs, where we see Ipswich, Sunderland and Pompey in the 3rd tier. Blues are nearer falling into the abyss than being a strength again sadly, but they've always attracted dodgy dealers. Just a real cruddy club.

I could never understand why the Porn Baron and King Dildo were so loathed at the Blues. They dragged the club up from the depths and brought unprecedented success.

In the annals of "being careful what you wish for" this is right up there.

Has any club ever made a success out of selling it's ground and renting back ? I would have thought Coventry would be a reminder of how it ends up ?
