I'd expect the goalkeeper to be in his goal tbf

Haha now people blame him for co.img out to cover the play.

100% on Sawyers, never pass back on target.

I've never seen this never pass back on target in any coaching manual.....I'd probably coach never pass back on target if there is nobody covering the goal myself

It's a pretty common concept, I've always been told it at Sunday league level.

Johnstone was out covering play, he's clearly been told to act more as a Sweeping Keeper, and it worked against Liverpool.

I've attended the FA L2 GK coaching course last year and wasn't taught this....sweeper keepers are expected to play with their feet and receive passes off target/on target all the time but making sure the goal is covered at all times!

And VAR concluded that whilst there was intent, Robinson wasn't actually penetrated.

Explain to me how Sawyers can get a game but Pereira can't.

Interesting, mind I've been told it purely as a defender, and at coaching courses. Always pass to the keepers feet, or surely off target if not sure.  Never assume keeper is in the bet, ge may have moved to give you an option.

Sawyers had time to look too.

This needs to change latest at half-time. No-one seems to be wanting to make the runs and receive the ball.

That’s what I’m surprised about. He was nowhere near covering his goal. He was way outside his six yard box.
