It was the perfect match for him to be honest. The most capable at holding onto the ball and giving us a bit of a breather from the relentless city pressure. Absolutely brilliant today

To me he is like Brunty in that his languid body language can come across as "half-arsed".

Yes, but he has a knack of letting players drift past him and not tracking his runner. Aside from one run from Sterling his defensive work was top notch, his positioning was a lot better and when the defenders made a small mistake either in possession or out of it he picked it up. He's good at ticking possession over but we've needed that defensive contribution that he showed tonight in some games and if he can do that every week he'll be seen as a very well rounded player.
