You no longer eat kippers? Food of the gods, mate!

kippers doused in vinegar and black pepper - stinks the house out mind -

oh and btw pigs trotters were truly disgusting - never eaten tripe but it tastes as bad as it looks I'm out.

Sounds like mom’s been to Iceland Big Grin

Southern fried chicken was something else we had.

Homemade chips.  They had a gadget where you peeled a potato and put it in the gadget and pushed down the handle and it pushed the potato against a sharp blades 1cm apart.

Food cooked in a pressure cooker.

I used to go to a mates house and we’d boil a can of steam pudding which would take the best part of an hour.

Ahhhh,  angel delight...   mom would whisk those up also (pun intended) Smile
God bless my mum, no interest in cooking. Also, being Irish background, had lots of stews and also the Irish staple of boiled bacon and cabbage.
I'm a culinary wizard myself now, do all the cooking for the family, and a rich, healthy varied assortment of world foods.
Tonight though, it's simply ribeye steak, mushrooms, spicy wedges, tomatoes, peas, onion rings.

Ha! Yes, both!

It was called a ginger beer plant where you used to drop in dried ginger and sugar every day then boil it up with lemon juice and bottle it. The bottles used to often explode!   Big Grin
