If they go down the worst thing that’ll happen is a possible points deduction and/or an embargo, but neither are likely as the league just won’t bother enforcing anything... The players they’ve signed are young enough and I’d imagine on low enough wages with flex downs to cope with relegation, and they’ll no doubt make some profit on the odd sale as at least one of their summer signings will come good.

The only way they’ll be remotely in trouble will be if Edens and Co. decide they are no longer interested and decide having spent £200m+ to end up in the Champ isn’t worth continually chucking cash at much like Lerner realised.

You have to stop tormenting yourself expecting anything bad  to happen to them. They saved their arses with the takeover and then the unlikely promotion. The jammy fuckers.

Sadly I also think they’ll just about stay up, as they’ll spend on a striker come Jan, and there’s quite a lot of crap in the PL this year.
