Why is it a shock? We have one of rhe best academies churning out multi-million pound kids . A bigger club have head-hunted him and paid him a fortune.

The other guy who has gone to Derby has had a massive promotion on the back of WBA's success.
Maybe Dave Bowler wanted to retire and the club have made him redundant and given him a package. Sometimes these things don't appear as they seem. Who knows?

For me, Shan is a big loss. He probably enquired about his future on the appointment of a new manager and decided to jump while his stock is high. For him and Scott to move on when we have a vacancy for Academy Manager is perplexing. Apparently Bowler didn't choose to go.
No surprises in the departing playing staff. Also, no surprises in the arrivals either
