Yes, I agree that Starmer would be a vast improvement. But he wasn't the option at the last election and Labour should hold themselves culpable for making themselves so ludicrously unelectable for so long.

How can you still think this? What else do they have to do?

Eh? Simply saying I wouldn't trust any of them.

Come off it CIM, you have defended this awful government since they got into power, it’s only now you’re trying to distance yourself from the indefensible  but only in so much as you do the classic, but but but they’re all as bad as each other line of defence. Tell us why Starmer would be worse?
As a Labour supporter, I have somewhat mixed feelings about whether this incompentent, mendacious buffoon stays in the job, since for Labour, he is the gift that keeps on giving. Almost every day, facts about his unscrupulous behaviour drag his party deeper and deeper into the mire and make a future Labour government a possibility, which seemed very unlikely only a year or so ago.
However, for the sake of the country, we need someone far more competent than him to guide us through this difficult year. Whether the Tories can put forward the type of leader we need is questionable, but not being an amoral, duplicitous circus act would be a start.

Yep.  As a man I despise him.  At best a narcissist and pathalogical liar and at worst a sociopath.  Three marriages, numerous affairs and an unconfirmed number of children (quite a lot of lying).  Sacked from at least two jobs for inappropriate behaviour (lying)  Was happy to go either way on Brexit (wrote two papers, one for each), then realised the Big B was his ticket to the big time (so got stuck into some more serious lying).

A Etonian with a god (well PM) complex and absolute belief in his own genius and entitlement despite all the evidence.  He is a living, walking and bumbling Billy Bunter and i still can't believe working and middle class folk of all political persuasions fell for his bullshit, but such was the power of Getting It Done.

However, as a politician I think he's fucking marvellous and long may he keep wriggling and grovelling to stay in power.  He is a becoming a political wrecking ball and visual representation of everything that is worst about the Tory party. The very thing that got him into power (pathological lying) is finally beginning to strangle the life out of him. Hoisted by ones own petard, as he might utter if he stopped babbling out half arsed Latin for a moment.

As for Labour.   Well Starmer and the party have literally had to do fuck all.  No real policies, no idea of what modern socialism looks like.   Just stay quiet (apart from when they have to support the PM to get his own bills through) and wait for it all to unravel.  Just wait.

Starmer really now has to just not be Boris! The labour shadow cabinet just has to not be one of HIS cabinet (Patel ordering others to support Boris after previously threatening people with arrest for the same offence is delicious).   Wow.

Just six months ago I just accepted very very grudgingly that we had probably got another 5 years of this buffoon and his cronies........we may still have but at least he's made it interesting again.  Thanks Boris.

That’s right biggest news story of the last two days shouldn’t be discussed on the main board. Keep that for top five vegetables. I go for the versatile potato or Jacob Rees Mogg

I'd forgotten that was there.  On a day like today I might do both.  Cheers FF.
