Which year saw the highest growth in GDP

Quite easy to find out, but guessing is more fun.

I found it by reading Stuart Maconies The Nanny State Made Me...which is a good read anyway, but particularly if you are a Smethwick resident, the swimming baths and library are featured .

I'm just guessing here, but would this be just after the oil crisis? If so, it's a little like our record growth post Covid.

When did we devalue the pound? Did it perhaps happen a few years after that due to domestic production increasing to offset a rise in import costs?
